ABSTRACT

Film-coating, encrusting or pelletizing seed is becoming more common, as these processes provide significant advantages, especially in high-value crops or crops where uniform plant spacing is desired. Film-coating, encrusting, and pelletizing seed with protectants also give more uniform application than the usual slurry or liquid seed treatment. When protectants are sealed to the seed by coating, there is little dusting-off loss of the protectant into the environment.
