ABSTRACT
Plants are continuously confronted with the harsh environmental conditions including toxic metals and metalloids contamination. Anthropogenic and especially industrial activities have impacted severely in our environment during the last century through releasing major toxic metals and metalloids to varied environmental compartments. Increasing emissions of metals/metalloids are dangerous because they may get ultimately into the food chain with risks for human health (Angelone and Bini 1992).
