ABSTRACT

Generally, industrial VOC emission sources could be divided into two types. One is pipe emissions, such as sealed pipeline emission and exhaust port and incinerator stack emissions. The other is evaporation emissions, including effusion from operating and treating processes, equipment units, storage tanks, and so on. Due to VOC toxicity, photochemical activity, and large-scale emission, on May 11, 2010, the General Ofƒce of the State Council (GOSC) of China issued an important notice, which ƒrst considered VOCs as important air pollutants as SO2, NOx (nitrogen oxides), and particulate matter (PM), and that some key industries with VOC emissions should be prioritized for control to achieve better regional air quality (GOSC, 2010). Thus, technological control of VOCs is important to achieve the target.
