ABSTRACT

Putting It All Together A In Chapter 5, we mentioned that it is usually more convenient to have the cognitive model represent a character’s high-level intentions. The high-level intentions are then filtered down into detailed motion by a predefined deter ministic behavior layer. In this chapter, we will run through the details of how this all works out in the context of the theory we have introduced in the preceding chapters. This can often be fairly straightforward, but some additional subtleties can arise. In addition, we will look at the important and related issue of real-time performance.
