ABSTRACT
In this chapter we describe certain special methods of solution of singular integral equations involving logarithmic type and Cauchy type singularities in the kernels. These methods avoid the detailed uses of the complex variable methods described in Chapter 3. The special methods of solution of singular integral equations discussed in this chapter, have been the subject of studies of various researchers such as Estrada and Kanwal (1985a, 1985b, 1987, 2000), Boersma (1978), Brown (1977), Chakrabarti (1995), Chakrabarti and Williams (1980) and others.
