ABSTRACT

The use of polysaccharides in the pharmaceutical, biomedical, and cosmetic ’elds has ubiquitous appreciation of those ingredients, as they are derived from marine organisms, e.g., chitin and its derivatives. While considering many biomedically and cosmetically acceptable chitin/chitosan compounds, one ’nds their morphology and functionality span polymer technology and activity. They may act as rheology modi’ers, suspending agents, hair and skin conditioners, as well as active compounds used for drug, cosmetic, food, and textile delivery systems, wound healing agents, scaffold for bone regeneration, derivatives for wastewater treatment, and many other known
