ABSTRACT
Lakes, reservoirs, wetlands and rivers are complex ecosystems in continual dynamic interaction with the drainage basin in which they are found. The responses of these aquatic ecosystems to the forcing functions that act on them (including changes in winds, rainfall, solar radiation and air temperature) are diverse and depend on morphology, geographical location, latitude, longitude and altitude.
