ABSTRACT

INTRODUCTION The impact of the development of a reliable hormonal contraception for males will likely be far less than the development of the contraceptive pill for the female. However, several studies indicate that such a contraceptive is desired by males as well as their female partners (1,2). The challenge to develop a male hormonal contraceptive that is convenient, reversible, and environmentally friendly (3) with few or no side effects is ongoing despite many recent advances in the field (4).
