PART III. Case Studies: Indie Games
More than twenty years have passed since the games discussed in Part II were released. During this time, the gaming industry has developed very fast and, most importantly, expanded in a variety of diﬀ erent directions. One of the most exciting areas to get the spotlight during the last few years has been the so-called “indie” scene where individual programmers, or very small teams, succeeded in experimenting with innovative concepts and ideas without all the constraints and worries typical of bigger developers.
