ABSTRACT

Resource Description Framework (RDF)–rich expressivity is achieved by means of an extendable set of terms grouped into vocabularies. However, the RDF core specifications include only a small number of general-purpose terms. Most RDF terms (including domain specific terms) are defined in third-party vocabularies by relevant standardization forums, organizations, or even individuals. Vocabularies define terms together with precise semantics for them. Users of a vocabulary are expected to understand the definitions and the semantics. *
