Michael D. Cobb (born in 1968, USA) is a political scientist currently working as an associate professor at the North Carolina State University. He completed his PhD at the University of Illinois in 2001 and specialises in political psychology and public-opinion research. His main areas of interest include public opinion, political behaviour, and citizen deliberation. E-mail: mdcobb@gw.ncsu.edu Enikő Demény (born in 1969, Hungary) is a civil engineer currently working as a junior researcher at the Center for Ethics and Law in Biomedicine at the Central European University. She is also a visiting lecturer at Babes Bolayi University in Romania. She holds a PhD in philosophy from 2006. Her main areas of interest include social, legal, ethical, and policy aspects of new converging technologies, and bioethics and social sciences. E-mail: demenye@ceu.hu Patrick W. Hamlett (born 1946, USA) is an associate professor of political science and of science, technology, and society at North Carolina State University. He earned his PhD at the University of California, Santa Barbara, 1981. His main areas of interest include deliberative democratic theory and science, technology, and public policy. E-mail: patrick.hamlett@gmail.com François Jégou (born in 1965, France) is a designer currently working as director of the Brussels-based sustainability innovation lab Strategic Design Scenarios, which he founded in 1990. He is also the scientific director of the public innovation lab the 27e Region in France, and teaches strategic design. He graduated from the Ecole Nationale Superieure de Creation Industrielle in Paris, writing about cross-fertilisation between future research and design. Peter Kakuk (born in 1973, Hungary) is currently working as an assistant professor at the Department of Behavioural Sciences, School of Public Health at the University of Debrecen, Hungary. He holds a PhD in health sciences from the University of Debrecen. His main areas of interest include bioethics and the ethical aspects of health care, normative aspects of the science-society relationship, research ethics, and contemporary challenges on scientific integrity. He is also the managing director of Management Application and Research Center at Yeditepe University. He holds a PhD in chemical engineering from Yale University. His main areas of interest include manufacturing strategies, technology management, R&D management, foresight, system dynamics modelling, and national innovation systems. His main areas of interest include environmental policy and governance, innovation and technology, and water and land management.
