ABSTRACT
The objective of this chapter is to provide readers with a general background in analytics. The chapter surveys and compares a number of analytics architectures and related information and processes, including the well-known data-information-knowledge hierarchy model. The chapter also draws a parallel between analytics and data fusion, to benefit from well-established data fusion techniques in the literature.
