ABSTRACT
The fine structure of spectra that involve electronic transitions from a core state
can be calculated either from the one-particle wave functions or Green functions
computed with codes based on the density functional theory (DFT), or from the
multielectronic wave functions which can be calculated from the atomic multiplet
theory. The choice of one or the other of these theories depends both on the atom
and on the edge which are considered.
