ABSTRACT

This chapter deals with occupational noise and ventilation procedures. All employees exposed at or above an 8-hour TWA of 85 dBA (action level) or

more are covered by this regulation (OSHA-1910.95-Noise Exposure). When you include all human senses, only vision has a higher rate of information transfer. We know that sound is the propagation, transmission, and reception of waves in some medium, usually air. Sound waves may have a single frequency or might be a combination of frequencies. Short-duration noise pulses, which can occur one time or may be repetitive, are known as impulse noise.
