ABSTRACT
There can be no democracy without elections. In order for political power to reside with the people, the people must have the means to express that power. They do this by going to the polls and communicating their personal views through ballots. Then, based on these ballots, a single decision is rendered on behalf of the collective voters. This is how democratic societies obtain their political leaders.
