ABSTRACT
Nanotechnology, by development of engineered nanomaterials, is a rapidly growing industry with great potential and applications in many areas, including nanomedicine. The use of NMs has revolutionized therapeutics and diagnostics. NPs are generally defi ned as particles with dimensions in the range of 1-100 nm (SCENIHR 2007), and owing to their nanosize they have physico-chemical properties different from those of the bulk material (Table 1).
