ABSTRACT
In this chapter, materials recycling is explored within the following contexts:
• recycling of process streams within chemical processes • economic and environmental benefits and burdens of recycling • closed loop and open loop recycling • materials recycling within product life cycles • waste treatment, landfill, and incineration, as less preferred alternatives within the waste management hierarchy.
