ABSTRACT
Mathematics is often referred to as the mother of all sciences. It is every where, and without it no scienctific study would have progressed. Mathematics defines not only the laws of the universe, but also gives us insight to solutions to many unsolved mysteries around us. Frankly, mathematical discoveries have often given rise to many questions, a large share of which are unknown to our present knowledge. These unproven results often are the backbone of science. To quote Vonn Neumann, In mathematics you don’t understand things. You just get used to them. However, we start from these results and discover by logical deduction results, which are used in several discourses. The study of any engineering discipline, thus
relies on the applications of these mathematical principles to solve practical problems for the benefit of mankind.
