ABSTRACT
The nanopore sheds light with its potential biotechnology applications, and moreover, is being intensively investigated and developed as the next-generation of DNA-sequencing technology with US$1,000 genome sequencing program supported by the US National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI). This chapter will introduce our recent research on biological and synthetic nanopores, new methods of investigating single-molecule kinetics with nanopore, and nanopore-based sensing devices.
