Silicon: From Bulk to Small Clusters

There is no experimental evidence for very small clusters (< 2 nm)

with the Td symmetry (Lamport, 1987). From a theoretical point of

view adamantane Si clusters can be built up by saturation of the

dangling bonds with hydrogen. Generally speaking, Silicon hydride

clusters labeled SiNHM grow from the decomposition of silane gas

prior a nucleation growth (Watanabe et al., 1997).
