ABSTRACT
Nanofi bers are defi ned as fi bers with diameters on the order of 100 nm or less. They can range from 50 nm to 100 mm or more in length and can be composed of synthetic or naturally occurring polymers or even pure carbon. Nanofi bers of polymeric origin, those which contain and are organized into repeating structural units, include those synthesized from the following materials.
