ABSTRACT

This chapter gives an overview of the common simulation methods used to model the operation of organic photovoltaics (OPVs). How these techniques vary in the description of the internal OPV structure will be discussed as well as how they solve for the behavior of charges and excitons. Examples will be given from the literature where models have been used to provide insight into how morphology and energetic structure effect charge transport, charge recombination, charge injection, and OPV performance. The chapter concludes with a summary and outlook.
