ABSTRACT
In this chapter, the basic formulation of the motion of a single degree of freedom is presented. The aim of this introduction is to discuss some important concepts necessary for solving and understating vibration problems. Figure 4.1 shows a mass-spring system that is subjected to a time-dependent force F(t), where m is the mass of the system and k is the stiffness of the spring.
