ABSTRACT

A suggested list of topics to be covered by the project technical plan is:

1. Introduction with purpose of the project and background 2. Description of the activity; that is:

a. Type of experiment or analysis b. Philosophy, basic principles and limitations involved in the choice

of the test or experiment design concept c. Parameters to be investigated

3. Test apparatus a. Description of how the test section or experiment is to be con-

structed

b. Identification of materials, parts or components having an effect on the results

c. Identification of measurements having an effect on the results d. General identification of special processes, e. g., welding, heat

treating, brazing, NDE to be used which may affect the test results 4. Test program: Description of the overall test program and identifica-

tion of specific test procedures to be used or developed to implement the overall program

5. Description of data acquisition and reduction methods 6. Description of data evaluation methods

Because the project technical plan is used as a formal means of agreement between the customer and the research center, the approval and revision control of the plan also should be formalized.
