ABSTRACT
The aforementioned obstacles have led to the development of innovative vehiclesfortopicaldrugdelivery.Oneapproachtothedevelopmentofthese vehiclesisnanotechnology-theuseofmoleculesatthenanoscale(1-100 nm).Nanomaterialsallowfortheuseofpotentdrugswithtargeteddelivery andminimalsideeffects(Hanetal.2011).Thesenanoplatformshavebeen investigatedforuseaswoundhealingadjuvants,antimicrobialtherapies, anti-inˆammatorytherapeutics,antineoplasticagentsandcosmetics.This chapteraimstoprovideanoverviewofnanotechnologyandtheuseof nanotechnology in dermatologic disorders (nanodermatology).
