ABSTRACT

The properties of ceramic products are determined not only by the composition and structure of the phases but also by the arrangement of the phases. This arrangement of the phases can be determined by studying the microstructures. The arrangement of the phases or their distribution depends on the initial fabrication techniques, raw materials, phase-equilibrium relations, and kinetics of phase changes, grain growth, and sintering.
