ABSTRACT
All res start with an event-such as an electrical failure, equipment failure, or carelessly discarded smoking materials. Once the re starts, it can manifest itself in a number of ways: grow in size, spread to other items, activate re detection or suppression systems, or self-extinguish. Each combination of possible sequences of actions is a re scenario. Event trees can be used to graphically illustrate all of the possible sequences of actions following a re event.
