ABSTRACT

Engineering tools, such as models, are typically used to perform two types of tasks: (1) model a re and its effects in a design re scenario and (2) evaluate a trial design strategy to determine if it achieves project goals, objectives, and performance criteria. Modeling a re and its effects in a design basis re scenario is part of a re hazards analysis. The purpose of conducting a re hazards analysis is to determine the conditions that could occur in the event of a re: temperature, heat ¡ux, concentration of products of combustion, etc. These conditions can be determined by using re models.
