ABSTRACT

Sometimes, a collapsed trachea is readily apparent with thoracic radiographs. Image 96 shows a narrow trachea and either collapse or infiltrate in the cranial lung lobe. Image 96b shows collapse of the mainstem bronchus (arrow). Fluoroscopy can detect what might not be readily apparent on routine radiographs, especially when there is main stem bronchi involvement. This is illustrated in images 96c and 96d.
