ABSTRACT

A Decision Support System (DSS) can be defined as the computational tool that facilitates several issues to a decision maker. Amongst them there are, the problem understanding, the integration of different components, and the interactive selection of the best choice. Everything in order to solve a complex, often multidisciplinary challenge. Therefore, that tool demands many knowledge information sources: data, models, experience and others (Rizzoli and Young, 1997). In a simpler way according to some literature, DSS is a computer-based system that assist in the decision making process (Finlay, 1994; Sprague and Watson, 1993) to solve unstructured situations (Gorry and Scott Morton, 1971).
