ABSTRACT
If the response variable is binary, we can use logistic regression to investigate how multiple explanatory variables influence the binary response. The situation is similar to that of linear models (Chapter 8), except that the normal distribution is not appropriate when the response is binary rather than quantitative. In logistic regression we use the binomial distribution (Chapter 11) and let the explanatory variables influence the probability of success.
