ABSTRACT
The following sections describe how to calculate the natural frequencies of ducts with various end conditions, the four-pole transmission line method for predicting the acoustic response of ducts that have plane-wave conditions, and a discussion of the various acoustic metrics that can be used to assess the performance of silencers or mufflers.
