ABSTRACT
The previous chapter dealt with an affliction brought on by new technology and the one before that implicated toxins. Here we meet problems where both technology plus toxin are to blame. But the toxin in question in not one that you would ordinarily think of as a dangerous poison; it is oxygen. And the technology is part of a seemingly innocuous object, the incubator for newborns that allows extremely small premature babies to survive.
