ABSTRACT
The concentration of the fuel and air within and around the combustion zone enveloping a jet diffusion flame in a premixed fuel-air surrounding, as shown schematically in Figure 14.1, extends significantly both radially and axially as the concentration of the gaseous fuel in the surrounding air is increased. This would go on until a concentration is reached that would permit the propagating flame to sweep through.
