Case study I was about to start my cardiology evening practice one day in June, 1999, when a worried colleague asked if I could fit in an extra patient on whom he had just performed an exercise test. ‘I’m unsure about the interpretation,’ he said. ‘I didn’t dare to exercise him further because his blood pressure rose so ominously.’
