ABSTRACT

Coronary angiography using contrast-enhanced multidetector computed tomography (MDCT) is a non-invasive technique that allows, for the first time, imaging of both the lumen and the wall of the coronary arteries from their origin at the aortic root to their very distal tract. The technique is currently used for the detection of obstructive coronary artery disease in patients with multiple risk factors and/or with symptoms, and to control the results of percutaneous coronary intervention or bypass surgery.
