ABSTRACT

A check-all-that-apply (CATA, often also known as choose-all-that-apply) question is a question format that has been used in recent years to obtain rapid product proles from consumers. Consumers are presented with a list of attributes and asked to indicate which words or phrases appropriately describe their experience with the sample being evaluated. The terms might include sensory attributes, as well as hedonic responses, emotional responses, purchase intentions, potential applications, product positioning, or other terms that the consumer might associate with the sample.
