ABSTRACT

Regarding the defi nition of disability, the World Health Organization (WHO)’s recent ICF: International Classifi cation of Functioning, Disability and Health, version 2 (ICFDH-2) [1], presents a framework which encompasses the multifaceted interaction between health conditions and personal/ environmental factors that determine the extent of disablement in any given situation. Disability is caused by a wide range of interacting aspects like communicable diseases, genetic factors, injuries, aging and many more. Disabilities include physical disabilities, cognitive disabilities, vision and hearing diffi culties, and mental health disorders, such as depression [2]. Today more than 32M people in the world have serious disabilities [3].
