ABSTRACT

With the increasing bandwidth and the wide adoption of handheld devices, medical experts can access valuable information from almost any place. Similarly, with the use of social networks, experts can share clinical knowledge on urgent cases and provide feedback from a distance. Patients are the main benefactors of these developments. They can seek information from well-known experts remotely, they can stay at home and can still get connected with the clinicians in hospitals, or receive faster service at a local hospital that has been co-operating with an overseas hospital for the assistance in urgent cases. These are examples of the rapidly emerging, revolutionary concept of tele-health.
