ABSTRACT

Decision support systems in medical domain are more developed for illnesses that deteriorate human health to a great extent. Opposed to that, these systems are more seldom used in illnesses which do not shorten one’s life such as primary headache. A suitable architecture for decision support in headache neurology practice is proposed. The architecture is based on integrating case-based reasoning for diagnosis and rule-based method for a headache severity assessment. This system was used in one study at the Institute of Neurology, Clinical Centre in Novi Sad.
