ABSTRACT
The induced polarization in the frequency domain may be mathematically described through the use of the susceptibility tensors. The tensors corresponding to the nth-order nonlinear induced polarization contain 3n+1 elements i.e. 81 elements for the susceptibility tensor describing the third-order induced polarization. Fortunately, they typically reduce because of symmetry relations. In the following we focus on these symmetry relations.
