Your consultant has just seen an elderly male patient who has presented with a 2-month history of rectal bleeding and weight loss. Your consultant has booked an urgent colonoscopy to help diagnose the cause. Your consultant has asked you to discuss the procedure with the patient, and to address any concerns he may have.
