ABSTRACT

The medial two-thirds of the clavicle are circular in section and convex anteriorly, while the lateral one-third is flattened and curved convex posteriorly. Medially the clavicle articulates with the manubrium at the sternoclavicular joint. Laterally it articulates with the acromion process of the scapula at the acromioclavicular joint. The scapula is a flattened, triangular bone. It covers the second to seventh ribs posteriorly. Laterally the glenoid fossa articulates with the humeral head.
