ABSTRACT
Clinical features of SBP from three representative series are shown in Table 25.2. SBP is a rare disease and almost
all series are retrospective, including patients seen over a long period; thus MRI was not used for the staging of all patients in any of the reported series. In the MD Anderson series,6 MRI was used to stage patients presenting after 1990, but the patients presenting prior to this date are also included. All the published series will, therefore, include some patients who with MRI would be classified as myeloma rather than SBP.
