ABSTRACT
The recent advent of laparoscopic and thoracoscopic surgical techniques now makes esophagectomy using minimal-access techniques feasible. Some initial reports suggest that the use of totally endoscopic techniques may reduce morbidity and improve initial surgical outcomes, particularly when combined with laparoscopic gastric mobilization.
