ABSTRACT
This chapter discusses the inuence of supplementary cementing materials (SCMs) on volume changes due to chemical and autogenous shrinkage, drying shrinkage, temperature changes, and sustained load (creep). Elastic deformations were discussed in the previous chapter, and volume changes resulting from various deterioration mechanisms (e.g., alkali-aggregate reaction and sulfate attack) will be discussed in the next chapter.
