ABSTRACT
The most widespread mechanisms of this kind are cam drives, crank mechanisms, and crank-rocker mechanisms. The main advantage of cam drives is the possibility of implementation of required characteristics of the follower motion, such as phase angles, velocity, and acceleration, by appropriate shaping of the cam prole. For relatively short strokes the cam drives are also more compact. However, for big strokes crank mechanisms are preferable.
