ABSTRACT
The main element of a gear is the toothed rim, and its geometry is greatly inuenced by the relative positions of the shafts to be connected by the gear drive: are they parallel, intersecting or crossed (i.e., nonintersecting and nonparallel). The most known types of gearing are considered below.
