ABSTRACT

The central dogma of molecular biology describes the flow of genetic information within a biological system. As Francis Crick stated in 1970: “The central dogma of molecular biology deals with the detailed residue-by-residue transfer of sequential information. It states that such information cannot be transferred back from protein to either protein or nucleic acid” [8]. Francis Crick later acknowledged that the word “dogma” was not accurate. Nevertheless, the significance and usefulness of the central dogma make it well known in biology.
