Thus far, most of our conclusions have been based on the simplified master equation (Equation (9.37)). It is thus important to investigate whether or not the simplified master equation approximates well the full master equation (Equation (9.23)). In this appendix, we aim to apply singularity analysis to the full master equation, and to see if there exist new dynamical behaviors that are unique to the full model. To simplify our analysis, we let K1 = K2 = K . We also fix βγ = 1 so that βγ I becomes I (alternatively, we can use ˜I to replace βγ I ).
